A Port Hueneme man was savagely beaten Thursday by his girlfriend’s husband and son, who were arrested for the attack, police said.

When police found 36-year-old Daniel Booker about 1:40 a.m., he was bleeding profusely from the head and one-third of his ear had been bitten off. Detectives said he had been struck in the head and chest with a tire jack. He was treated at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.

About 7 a.m., police arrested Luis Garcia, 36, and his 17-year-old son at their Camarillo home. Booker is dating Garcia’s estranged wife, who recently served him with divorce papers, said Sgt. Fernando Estrella.

The woman was in Booker’s apartment on South Ventura Road at the time of the attack, along with Booker’s 10-year-old son, who ran to a neighbor’s house to call police.

Garcia was booked into County Jail on suspicion of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem, conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The 17-year-old son was taken to Juvenile Hall.
