Capital Cities/ABC on Thursday named the head of its Philadelphia station to take over as president and general manager of KABC-TV Channel 7 in Los Angeles.
G. Alan Nesbitt, a 26-year Capital Cities veteran, moves into the job vacated by Terry Crofoot, who resigned unexpectedly in September after reportedly clashing with Capital Cities/ABC executives. Crofoot last week took a job as vice president of news for Fox TV Stations, which owns KTTV Channel 11.
Nesbitt, 52, has been president and general manager of WPVI-TV in Philadelphia since January, 1990. Before that, he was president and general manager of WTVD, the Capital Cities/ABC-owned station in Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
