NORTHRIDGE : Construction Begins on Medical Offices

Share

Construction has begun on a new medical office tower at Northridge Hospital Medical Center on the southeast corner of Reseda and Roscoe boulevards.

The three-story, 28,000-square-foot building, to be occupied by the Facey Medical Group, will be the third structure on the nonprofit medical center’s campus.

The new building will provide offices for the practices and diagnostic services of 17 doctors. It’s scheduled for completion late next year, said a hospital spokeswoman.

The new building represents the second expansion this year at Northridge Hospital, which is owned by UniHealth America.

In June, the hospital opened the doors to its new $5.4-million cancer center next to the main hospital building at 18300 Roscoe Blvd.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Fagen said the building will serve a growing need for doctors in the area.

Facey Medical, a 66-physician multi-specialty group, has five offices in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.

Coupled with the group is the Facey Medical Foundation, a tax-exempt nonprofit foundation, which will provide services in the new building.

The foundation, devoted to expanding medical research and education, is a new division of UniHealth, said Donald Abramsky, the foundation’s executive vice president.
