OXNARD : Drainage Project Planned at Airport
A portion of the Oxnard Airport that floods during heavy rains will get a new sloped surface and improved drainage system to help alleviate the problem.
A $300,000 grant from the California Aid to Airports Program will pay for the improvements, said Nona Makinson, operations manager for the Ventura County Airports.
“Historically we’ve had drainage problems,” Makinson said. “Basically, it becomes a lake.”
The area to be repaired is east of the terminal building near the airplane hangars, Makinson said. She expects the project to be completed by the end of 1994.
