Jessica Lee of Golden West College has been named national community college player of the year by the American Volleyball Coaches Assn., the organization announced Thursday.
Lee, a 5-foot-10 setter from Capistrano Valley High, is captain of the unbeaten Rustlers, who begin play in the State tournament today in San Diego. Golden West finished third in the 1992 State tournament and is 51-2 over Lee’s two-year career.
Lee, a unanimous All-State and Orange Empire Conference pick (and conference MVP), was a second-team AVCA All-American last year. She has made an oral commitment to play volleyball at Illinois.
