Woman, 81, Hit by Truck in Fullerton
An 81-year-old woman was in critical condition Saturday after she was hit by a small pickup truck when she tried to cross a street near her home after dark.
Police said Donna Marie Pasquale was struck about 6:30 p.m. by a truck that was traveling west in the 1500 block of East Commonwealth Avenue.
Sgt. Neal Baldwin said he did not anticipate any charges being filed against the driver, identified as Norman Stanfield, 27, of Fullerton.
“There were no drugs or alcohol suspected and there wasn’t any crosswalk there,” Baldwin said. “I think she was all of a sudden just right there in front of him.”
Pasquale, who suffered head and chest injuries, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, a spokeswoman said.
