Gunman Takes Jewelry Valued at $1 Million
An armed robber seized jewelry reportedly worth more than $1 million from a New York salesman in an airport car rental lot on Sunday, Los Angeles police said. The victim, whose name was not released, was returning a car to Budget Rent-a-Car at Los Angeles International Airport about 8 p.m. when a gunman “relieved him of his luggage, containing a large amount of jewelry,” Police Sgt. Harold Cox said.
