LAKE CASITAS : Cost of Yearly Vehicle Passes to Increase

Share

Casitas Municipal Water District officials have a unique gift suggestion for the person who has everything: annual passes to the Lake Casitas Recreation Area.

Beginning Jan. 1, the price for vehicle passes will go up, Ranger Brent Doan said. The cost of a boat pass will stay the same, he said. Both are good for one year from the date of purchase, officials said.

Without a pass, vehicles are charged $5 each time they go through the gates of the park, Doan said. Boats are charged $4 a day, he said.

“If you buy before the end of the year, you only have to go nine times to pay for the pass,” Doan said.

Through the end of this year, 1994 vehicle passes will cost $45. After that, renewals will cost $50 and first-time buyers will pay $60, Doan said. Boat passes cost $40, but there is a $4 discount for boat passes bought with vehicle passes, Doan said.

The passes can be purchased at the main entrance to the Lake Casitas Recreation Area. For information, call 649-2233.
