Katz to Speak on Crime and Economy

Share

Assemblyman Richard Katz (D-Sylmar) will tackle issues including crime prevention, graffiti and ways to create jobs and keep businesses in the Valley at a luncheon sponsored by the San Fernando Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.

“Those were the top four issues that the San Fernando business community rated on our fall survey,” said Bruce Cohen, executive vice president of the San Fernando chamber.

The event, to be held at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills, is the second in a series of luncheons focusing on economic conditions in the state, region and city of San Fernando. The first, featuring state Sen. David Roberti (D-Van Nuys), dealt with the general economic climate of the state. Future luncheons will focus on the city of San Fernando’s finances and the April election of the San Fernando City Council.

Katz was chosen to address the top-rated topics, in part because he has been outspoken on those issues, said Cohen.

Tickets for the event may be reserved through the chamber or at the restaurant on the day of the event.
