LOS ANGELES : Meeting Set to Coordinate City Tree-Planting Efforts

Share

In an attempt to add trees to the city’s landscape, city officials have scheduled a meeting Monday to coordinate planting efforts.

Councilwoman Laura Chick hopes to create a tree bank that will keep track of trees donated to the city and dole them out to city departments and community organizations. The city replaces 2,000 trees a year but does not have a coordinated strategy for adding them, she said.

The joint meeting of the Environmental Affairs Commission and the Environmental Quality and Waste Management Committee will be held at 2 p.m. Monday.
