Law enforcement authorities from across Los Angeles County were on the lookout Friday for a young woman who was abducted from a bus stop in Glendale by three young men.

The victim, in her late teens or early 20s, whose identity was unknown, was sitting by herself on a bus bench at Los Feliz Road and Brand Boulevard about 8 p.m. Thursday when two young men dragged her into a car against her will, said Glendale Police Detective Larry Kopp.

“She struggled with her attackers,” Kopp said. “It was obvious that she did not want to go with them.”

Two people in a car next to the bus stop witnessed the abduction and tried to follow the kidnapers but were discouraged when one of the men pointed a rifle or a shotgun at them, Kopp said.

The kidnapers’ car, described as a late-1970s beige four-door sedan with tinted windows and a faded vinyl roof, was last seen driving toward Los Angeles on Brand Boulevard near San Fernando Road, Kopp said.

Witnesses reported the car’s license number, but police said it was incorrect, possibly one or two digits off. They are checking similar numbers, Kopp said.

Two of the kidnapers got out of the car during the abduction while the third remained at the wheel. One was described as a skinny Latino, about 6 feet tall and 18 to 24 years old with black hair. He was wearing a faded shirt and black pants. The other was described as a Latino about the same age with slicked-back hair, wearing a black jacket.

Some witnesses said the kidnaped woman was white and others said she was Latino, Kopp said. But they described her as wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

“Descriptions are sketchy because of the darkness and distance,” he said.

Glendale police notified all county law enforcement agencies, but as of Friday afternoon there were no clues as to the victim’s whereabouts.
