November Restaurant Closures

The county Department of Health Services has the power to shut down food facilities for as short or as long a period of time as necessary for the owners to correct conditions that pose a danger to the public health. Here is a list of the restaurants closed during November.

La Especial No. 3--2534 S. Central Ave., L.A. Closed 11/16 to 11/19. Vermin infestation, unsafe food temperatures, improper sanitizing or storage of multiuse utensils.

Los Angeles City College--855 N. Vermont Ave., L.A. Closed 11/5 and remains closed.* No potable water supply or no hot water.

Lousiana Fried Chicken--11415 S. Vermont Ave., L.A. Closed 11/24 to 11/29. Vermin infestation.

M.I. Snack Shop--1655 North McCadden Place, L.A. Closed 11/17 and remains closed.* Poor general sanitation.

Mi Cantina--548 W. Anaheim St., Long Beach. Closed 11/8 to 11/10. No hot water, improper dishwashing method, poor general sanitation in restrooms.

Nak Won House--1001 S. Vermont Ave., L.A. Closed 11/16 and remains closed.* No potable water supply or no hot water.

Nam Kang Restaurant--3054 W. 7th St., L.A. Closed 11/8 to 11/9. Vermin infestation.

Panda Cave--1767 Westwood Blvd., L.A. Closed 11/16 to 11/17. Vermin infestation, contaminated food, unsafe food temperatures.

Restaurant reopened in November after being closed in October: Homemade 21 Soup & Salad Shop--599 S. La Brea Ave., Inglewood. Closed 10/28 to 11/1. Poor general sanitation, no potable water supply or no hot water.
