Rose Bowl: If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It

Share

With all the college bowl games coming up, I just want to know if there is a company or corporation that does not have a bowl game as a corporate sponsorship?

In Jim Hodges’ article on the Rose Bowl (Dec. 27), he asks Terry Donahue about the critics who question if Rose Bowl officials would open the game to the top teams in the country instead of the Pac-10/Big Ten champions. I agree with Mr. Donahue. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The Rose Bowl is the only game left where we don’t have grotesque corporate sponsorship. Thank God the Rose Bowl game has not lowered itself to the depths of becoming the Blockbuster Rose Bowl, Robinson’s May Rose Bowl, or the Pep Boys Rose Bowl.
