Electrical Panel Blamed in Reseda Fire
A fire that damaged a Reseda cycle shop Saturday night, causing $220,000 in damages, was caused by an electrical problem inside the shop, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Fifty-five firefighters battled the blaze at Vick’s Custom Cycle Shop at 17644 Sherman Way for 40 minutes to prevent it from spreading to an adjoining shop, My Gym.
The fire was confined to the attic and mezzanine area of the cycle shop, Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Fire investigators determined that the blaze started in an electrical panel. There was $120,000 in damage to the structure and $100,000 in damage to the contents of the building.
