Summer-Like Temperatures Warm County
Temperatures in Ventura County soared into the high 70s and low 80s as a summer-like weather system moved through Southern California on Monday.
Piru was the hottest spot in the county, with a high temperature of 84 degrees--about 20 degrees warmer than usual, meteorologists for the National Weather Service in Oxnard said.
The temperature reached 80 degrees in Thousand Oaks, while Ventura was a balmy 76.
“This is really more like July,” said meteorologist David Gomberg. “January should be more like mid-60s.”
But don’t get out the beach umbrella yet. Temperatures are expected to drop today, Gomberg said.
“It will be at least 10 degrees cooler,” Gomberg said.
