HOMEFRONT NEWS: About one in four Ventura County residents claims Latino heritage, up from one in five in 1980. And many are hungry for news about the turmoil in southern Mexico (A1). . . . “We’re getting loads of calls,” said Alfredo Tristan of Spanish-language radio station KTRO in Oxnard, which interrupted Monday’s programming with frequent news bulletins. . . . “Most people who are here from Mexico are from the southern states,” he said. “They’re worried about this.”
