The New York Islanders’ frustration was evident Tuesday at East Rutherford, N.J.

The injury-plagued Islanders are 15-19-3 less than a year after making it to the Stanley Cup semifinals, and they showed their consternation with unsportsmanlike penalties after each of two late goals by New Jersey and lost to the Devils, 6-3.

New York also got in two melees in the final 30 seconds in losing its fourth in a row.

“If you don’t worry about it, you’re not very intelligent,” Islander center Ray Ferraro said.

Detroit 4, St. Louis 4--Brendan Shanahan capped a Blues’ comeback from a four-goal deficit when he scored on a rebound with 4:18 to play in regulation at St. Louis.

Chicago 2, Dallas 1--Dirk Graham’s goal with 1:14 to play in overtime was the winner at Dallas.

Tampa Bay 1, Toronto 0--Pat Elynuik scored the game’s only goal at Hamilton, Ontario, where Toronto’s winless streak reached seven games.

Montreal 2, San Jose 2--Stephan Lebeau’s wraparound goal with 6:07 gone in the third period pulled the Canadiens into a tie at San Jose.
