Cliff Robinson scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half as the Portland Trail Blazers came back from a 20-point halftime deficit to beat the Hornets, 116-110, at Charlotte.

Portland took a 15-point lead on a basket by Jaren Jackson with 2:48 to play, but the Hornets made a comeback of their own, close to within 114-110 when Hersey Hawkins made a three-pointer with 32 seconds left.

Two free throws by Rod Strickland, who finished with 25 points for the Trail Blazers, ended the scoring.

Strickland had 12 assists and Tracy Murray added 22 points for Portland, which played without its usual backcourt of Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter, who have sprained ankles.

Golden State 102, San Antonio 98--Latrell Sprewell scored 22 points and made three free throws in the final 35 seconds as the Warriors, after blowing nearly all of the 15-point lead they had with 2:58 to play, held off the Spurs at Oakland.

Trailing, 96-81, the Spurs scored 12 consecutive points while the Warriors missed five free throws in a row and pulled to 96-93 on Willie Anderson’s jump shot with 48 seconds to play.

Spur center David Robinson led all scorers with 32 points.

New York 92, Milwaukee 86--Charles Oakley tied his season high with 21 points to help the Knicks survive a fourth-quarter collapse at Milwaukee.

Rolando Blackman added a season-best 18 points for New York. New York didn’t have a field goal in the final 5:40, but Milwaukee could get no closer than four points.

After Patrick Ewing’s dunk gave New York a 20-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, Jon Barry sparked an 11-0 run with six points, pulling Milwaukee to 83-74 with 2:32 remaining. But Todd Day was short on a three-pointer, and Greg Anthony made two free throws to break New York’s drought.
