Driving-Skills Classes Offered to Seniors
Senior citizens who want to sharpen their driving skills and qualify for an auto insurance discount can take a class at six South County sites this month.
Sponsored by the American Assn. of Retired Persons, “55 Alive” is a two-day program.
Once completed, participants will be issued a certificate from the Department of Motor Vehicles, which qualifies policy-holders for a senior citizen discount.
Students must be at least 50 years old, although 55 is the minimum age to qualify for insurance discounts. The cost for the class is $8.
Preregistration is required, and those who are interested must call the facility where the class is being held to sign up.
Classes will be held at these locations:
* Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., San Clemente Senior Center, 242 Avenida del Mar, (714) 498-3322.
