BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Banning Outlasts Washington in Three OTs

Share
SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Washington High’s Surviving Seven nearly pulled off the biggest upset of the year before losing to Banning, 70-65, in triple overtime Friday.

The seven players, who began the season as reserves, moved into starting roles when six Generals, including four starters, were suspended for three games for an unspecified incident. The other General starter was out sick with the flu.

The Surviving Seven were down to five--two players fouled out by the first overtime--when Jason Pickett single-handedly saved the Pilots from possible embarrassment.
