Mighty Bosstones Cafe Show Canceled

A Jan. 27 concert at the Rhythm Cafe by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, a ska-rock band from Boston, has been canceled.

The show had been booked by an outside promoter, Paul Tollett of Goldenvoice Presents, who said Wednesday that he decided to cancel because of uncertainty over the Rhythm Cafe’s future. The club’s landlord has filed papers in Orange County Superior Court seeking to have the current Cafe management evicted for non-payment of rent.

Tollett said Tony Cardullo, who has been trying to coordinate Cafe bookings, told him last week that the club was having “license problems” and advised him to switch the show to another location, but there was not enough time. Cardullo could not be reached.

Tickets to the show will be refunded at points of purchase.
