VENTURA : 3 Held in Robbery, Assault of Pizza Man

Share

Ventura police arrested three teen-age boys early Saturday on suspicion of ambushing and robbing a Domino’s Pizza deliveryman at a house on the city’s west side, authorities said.

The strong-arm robbery occurred about 12:40 a.m. when three or four suspects attacked the deliveryman as he was knocking on a door in the 200 block of West Flint Street. They punched and kicked the driver before making off with several pizzas, police said.

The driver then returned to his store and called police.

Officers went to the house from which the original pizza order had been placed, and questioned several people there. During a search of the house, they found six alleged gang members in a back bedroom. All six were taken to the Ventura Police Station for questioning and three, ages 15 to 17, were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall, said Officer Ralph Martinez.
