Wellness Foundation’s Grant Program Grows
The California Wellness Foundation said it expects to give $30 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, double last year’s amount, as a result of the just-completed merger of Woodland Hills-based Health Net and QualMed of Pueblo, Colo.
The nonprofit foundation was created by law in 1992 when Health Net was converted from a nonprofit health maintenance organization to a for-profit HMO.
