LOS ANGELES : City Sets Up Hot Lines for Damage Inspections
The following hot lines operated by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety have been set up for information related to earthquake damage inspections:
* For first inspections of earthquake-damaged buildings not yet evaluated by Building and Safety: (800) 655-4095
* For questions or disputes about the red, yellow, or green tags posted on buildings after emergency inspections by Building and Safety teams: (800) 890-0223. Information is also available to help residents interpret when structures are safe to enter or occupy.
* For questions about dwellings evaluated as unsafe to occupy, as indicated by a red or yellow tag: (800) 664-2489. Information is also available on procedures for obtaining an emergency re-entry for limited retrieval of possessions.
