Roommate of Slain Man Being Sought
Sheriff’s homicide investigators searched Tuesday for the roommate of a 38-year-old man found shot to death in his home, authorities said.
However, Sgt. Robert Stoneman, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, emphasized that the roommate, Anthony Lopez, 25, was not a suspect in the slaying.
“We really want to find him because he may be able to shed some light on what led up to this murder,” Stoneman said.
The victim, Steven Lee Stewart, was found by co-workers at their home in the 3200 block of Lantana Court about 7:40 p.m. Monday after he failed to show up for work at the clothing store he managed, Stoneman said. Lopez has not returned to the home since then, he said.
