Arizona won twice Sunday, beating California on the court at Berkeley and in a running war of words.

The 16th-ranked Wildcats emerged with a 96-77 victory over the No. 18 Golden Bears in a Pacific 10 Conference game that pitted trash-talking players against each other. Even the coaches got into the act.

Second-year Cal Coach Todd Bozeman and 11th-year Arizona Coach Lute Olson got into an angry exchange with 1:38 to play. Olson interrupted Bozeman’s complaints to officials by yelling, “What’s your problem?”

“What’s your problem?” Bozeman shot back. “Oh, sit down!” Olson screamed. “No, you sit down, you sit down!” Bozeman shouted. They ended the exchange by cursing each other.

Arizona, 19-4 overall and 8-3 in the Pac-10, ended Cal’s six-game winning streak by going on a 22-0 run after the Bears (16-5, 8-3) had rallied from a 14-point deficit.

No. 13 Massachusetts 56, No. 8 Temple 55--Playing in his second game after collapsing on the court against Cincinnati on Jan. 27, Mike Williams made a jumper with three seconds remaining to give the Minutemen an Atlantic 10 Conference victory at Amherst, Mass.

Williams, who finished with 17 points, underwent a battery of tests. He was cleared to play last week and returned Thursday.

Donta Bright made two free throws to put the Minutemen (18-4, 10-0) ahead, 54-53, with 11 seconds left. Temple (17-4, 10-3) had a final chance to win, but Aaron McKie’s jump shot at the buzzer bounced off the rim.

No. 11 Michigan 72, Ohio State 70--The Wolverines almost squandered a seven-point lead in the last 90 seconds before holding on for a Big Ten Conference victory at Columbus, Ohio.

The victory enabled Michigan (17-4, 9-2) to retain sole possession of the conference lead. Ohio State is 10-12 and 3-8.

Dayton 82, No. 17 St. Louis 77--Shawn Haughn scored 30 points and made all eight of his three-point shots to help the Flyers (5-14, 1-6) rally from a 12-point deficit to upset the Billikens (19-2, 5-2) in overtime in a Great Midwest Conference game at Dayton, Ohio.

Haughn, who helped the Flyers end an 11-game losing streak, matched the NCAA record for three-point accuracy set by Tomas Tompson of San Francisco in 1992.

Cincinnati 89, No. 22 Marquette 82--Dontonio Wingfield and Damon Flint each made two baskets in the second overtime to give the Bearcats (16-7, 4-4) a Great Midwest victory over the Warriors (16-6, 7-2) at Milwaukee.
