Motorist Hits Patrol Car, Injuring Officer
A police officer was injured Monday when his patrol car was rear-ended by another motorist, authorities said.
Officer Peter Rodriguez had just pulled over a suspected traffic violator on State College Boulevard near Cliffwood Avenue about 7:10 a.m. when he was struck from behind by another vehicle.
Rodriguez sustained injuries to his head and ankle. He was transported by ambulance to St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton and later released.
Ryan Mark Forrester, 19, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, also received head injuries. Forrester, of Brea, was transported to Brea Community Hospital and later released.
No citations have been issued and the accident remains under investigation, police said.
