TUSTIN : Polling Sites to Be Announced Today
The City Council will announce today the polling sites for the April 12 municipal election and appoint the inspectors and clerks who will work in the precincts.
The council has authorized $25,000 for the election, including $3,700 for the training and compensation of the poll workers. An inspector will receive $50 and a poll clerk $40.
Four candidates are contesting the two open seats in the council: incumbents Leslie Anne Pontious and Charles E. Puckett and challengers Michael Doyle and Tracy Worley.
Nineteen residences, churches and clubhouses of local homeowners associations have been recommended as possible polling places.
All the sites are accessible to the disabled, officials said.
The polling places are practically the same as in the 1992 election, officials said, except for Precinct 13, which will be at the Congregation B’Nai Israel at 211 Bryan Ave. to ensure adequate parking.
Rental for each precinct is $35, officials said.
