Two men whose bodies were found inside a car on the southbound side of the Golden State Freeway may have been killed by shots fired from another car, authorities said Monday.

“We don’t know for certain, but all indications are that (the shots were) from a motorist traveling in the same direction,” said Deputy Benita Hinojos, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.

The victims were identified Monday as Marco Antonio Trejo, 35, of Los Angeles, who was driving the car, and Manuel Salvador, 37, of Glendale. Police have no additional information about the victims, Hinojos said.

Other drivers saw the victims’ car, a 1991 black Cadillac, swerving Sunday about 7:40 p.m. before it crashed into a guardrail on the southbound side of the Golden State Freeway, south of the Hungry Valley Road exit, Hinojos said.
