Police were seeking help Monday in finding a hit-and-run driver who fled an accident that may cost a motorcyclist his left leg.

Anaheim resident Victor Lee Tucker, 34, was riding his motorcycle through the intersection of Euclid Street and Medical Center Drive at 2:15 a.m. Saturday when he was struck from behind by a small gray pickup truck, perhaps a Mazda, officers said.

Tucker was thrown to the pavement and suffered a compound fracture of his left leg, which may have to be amputated below the knee, officers said. He was listed in stable condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange on Monday.

The driver of the pickup never stopped after hitting Tucker, officers said. He was described as a Latino in his 20s with short dark hair and wearing a gray shirt, officers said. Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Anaheim police investigators at (714) 254-1861 or (714) 254-1835.
