SANTA MONICA : Woman Attacked After Staged Car Accident
A 19-year-old Santa Monica woman was sexually assaulted last week inside her car after two men bumped their vehicle against hers, police said.
The woman told police she got out of her car at Washington Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue about 2:15 a.m. Sunday to exchange information with the men about the accident.
One suspect pushed the woman back into her car and molested her, while the other suspect rifled through her belongings.
“There wasn’t a lot of money, so one suspect held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her,” said Santa Monica Police Sgt. Gary Gallinot. The men fled after the lights from a passing car illuminated the scene.
