Robert Robles, 22, a former Ontario resident, has been in the Los Angeles County Jail on separate charges since December. News of the warrant for his arrest helped police locate the suspect, and Laguna Beach detectives plan to interview him at the jail next week.

In Laguna Beach, Robles will face charges of rape, robbery, kidnaping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and sodomy for his alleged role in the attack last July on a 20-year-old Pomona man and his 19-year-old La Habra girlfriend. The arrest warrant for those crimes carries $250,000 bail.

Police say they believe Robles actually committed the rape while two other young men restrained her boyfriend.

The two other suspects, a 17-year-old male and Floyd Robert Sullivan, 18, both Ontario residents, were arrested on the same charges Wednesday. Police at that time believed Robles was at large in Northern California, but on Friday discovered that he was in jail in Los Angeles.

According to a spokeswoman at the L.A. County Jail, Robles is serving a one-year sentence for car theft and is scheduled to be released Aug. 15.

The juvenile suspect in the case, who was not identified because of his age, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and Sullivan faces arraignment next week, police said.
