Japan’s Trade Surplus Rose in February: The current account surplus rose a modest 0.1% in February from a year earlier, the Japanese government said, but economists said it’s too early to tell whether growth in the surplus has peaked. The current account, the broadest measure of trade, includes goods and services. The Finance Ministry said the current account surplus--a bone of contention with the United States--inched up to $11.94 billion in February from $11.93 billion a year earlier. The overall surplus in global trade, meanwhile, rose to $12.93 billion in February from $12.62 billion a year earlier.
