BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Cubs Trade Boskie for Minor Leaguer
The Chicago Cubs traded right-hander Shawn Boskie to the Philadelphia Phillies for minor league pitcher Kevin Foster and will recall reliever Chuck Crim from triple-A Iowa to fill the roster spot.
Boskie had spent three-plus seasons with the Cubs and in two appearances this season was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA. He was 5-3 with a 3.43 ERA last season when he made two starts. He is 19-29 in 107 appearances, including 55 starts.

Holly Minter, 26, was in serious condition in a Dallas hospital, recovering from broken ribs and a broken right arm sustained in a fall from the upper deck on opening day Monday at The Ballpark in Arlington. . . . . First baseman Kevin Maas, who hit 21 home runs in three months in a record-setting rookie season with the New York Yankees, signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres. Maas, who will play at double-A Wichita, was released by the Yankees during spring training.
