This Former Professional Shows He Still Has Touch

Leon Falk, a former tournament bass fisherman, did not expect to catch one last week at Lake Isabella. Falk, of Kernville, was fishing for trout with his nephew and son.

But then Power Bait has been known to catch more than trout. Falk put a glob of the speckled green paste on his hook, and came away with a 15-pound 9-ounce largemouth.

“That’s a big old bass,” said Jack Dempsey, co-owner of Sierra Sporting Goods, where the bass was checked in. “The biggest (caught) in the last few years.”
