Systems Controls Completes Spinoff: Anaheim-based System Controls Inc. said Friday that it has completed a previously announced spinoff of its communications division. The company also said it has raised $1.5 million in capital by converting stock warrants. The company, which manufactures high-technology energy management systems and communications equipment, will use the capital to launch several new products, System Controls President Phillip M. Westall said. The communications division’s assets were transferred in March to Quantum Communications Inc. System Controls shareholders will receive one share of Quantum Communications stock for each System Controls share owned.
