Man Found Shot to Death in Car

An unidentified man was shot to death in his car Sunday on Foothill Boulevard near the Hansen Park Dam, authorities said.

The victim, described as a young Latino male, was found by police who responded to reports from nearby residents of shots fired shortly after 6:40 p.m., said Sgt. Gene Fretheim, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.

Homicide investigators ruled out initial reports that the killing was the result of a traffic dispute, saying instead it may be gang-related, Fretheim said. The incident took place in the 11800 block of Foothill Boulevard, he said.
