PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Glenn Hits for Cycle as Buena Park Pounds Sunny Hills

Ryan Glenn hit for the cycle, leading Buena Park to a 14-5 victory over Sunny Hills in a Freeway League baseball game Wednesday at Sunny Hills.

After a single and a double in the early innings, Glenn hit a homer in the sixth and tripled in the seventh. Glenn, who hit his first two homers of the season Friday, finished with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Teammate Timmy Jones also had four hits and scored three runs, stole two stolen bases and drove in a run for Buena Park (10-6, 6-2).

Mike Davis pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits and five runs.

In other Freeway League games:

Fullerton 14, La Habra 4--Ryan Golisano (8-1) struck out 10 and Craig Freeman drove in four runs with a double and triple for eighth-ranked Fullerton (15-3, 7-1).

Troy 6, Sonora 1--Brian Logan had three hits, including a home run and three RBIs for the Warriors (12-5, 5-3).

In Academy League baseball:

St. Margaret’s 9, Liberty Christian 0--Bobby Masters went three for three with two RBIs for St. Margaret’s (8-1, 3-0).

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 3, Bolsa Grande 2--Kevin Loken had three hits and scored a run for Garden Grove (9-7, 3-3). Adam Bass added two hits, one RBI and one run scored.

Pacifica 7, Los Amigos 0--Adam Peters pitched a four-hitter, striking out eight, for Pacifica (9-9, 4-2).

Chad Brown had two hits and two RBIs for Pacifica.

Rancho Alamitos 14, Santiago 9--Jeff Turbarg, who had five hits, five stolen bases and four runs scored, helped Rancho Alamitos (4-12, 1-6) broke an 11-game losing streak.

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 6, Anaheim 5--Ryan Knuth hit a single to drive in Marc Anspach from second with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth for host Brea-Olinda (16-2, 6-2), the top-ranked team in Orange County. Knuth also pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings of relief to earn the victory and Anspach earned his first save.

Magnolia 3, Western 2--Josh Reding (4-1) had a nine strikeouts and George Silva went two for three with an RBI double for Magnolia (6-9, 3-5).

Savanna 7, Valencia 1--Jose Vasquez pitched a three-hitter and struck out five for Savanna (7-11, 4-4).

In the South Coast League:

El Toro 16, Mission Viejo 1--El Toro (11-8, 3-5) had four home runs among its 15 hits. Brian Saltarelli had three hits, including a two-run homer in the first, three runs scored and four RBIs. Brandon Hendrikx also had a first-inning two-run homer. Ryan Fullerton went three for three, including a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. Matt Degulis got his first hit of the season, a two-run homer in the top of the seventh.

Mater Dei 10, Capistrano Valley 3--Brad Ticehurst hit his third home run in the last three games, a two-run shot in the third for No. 4 Mater Dei (12-5-1, 7-1). Eddie Marquez was three for three with three RBIs.

San Clemente 4, Dana Hills 1--The Tritons used RBI doubles by Mike Wood, Mike Castaneda and Josh Danson in the first two innings to give San Clemente (12-6, 5-3) the victory. Chad Wanders (7-1) pitched a complete game, striking out six and walking four. Dana Hills is 9-7-1, 5-3.
