LAKE ARROWHEAD--Welcome the blooms of spring at the fifth annual Dogwood Celebration, May 14-15 in Lake Arrowhead Village. A parade, with grand marshal Smokey Bear, is at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by a 50th birthday party for Smokey. CLOVERDALE--Black Bart, a notorious bandit from local history, has an annual celebration in his name, with this year’s festivities on May 14. Black Bart Days starts at 9 a.m. in the City Park with the 68th annual Ram and Sheep Dog Trials, followed by a lamb barbecue and the 68th annual Cloverdale Ram Sale. The Business Trade Show, with food, wine, demonstrations and more, is 1-4 p.m. at the Citrus Fairgrounds, followed by the musical “Oklahoma!” The Cloverdale Street Celebration ’94 is downtown, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 15. PETALUMA--Transport yourself back to old California at Petaluma Adobe Living History Day, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 21. OXNARD--A beloved local crop is honored at the 11th annual Strawberry Festival, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. May 21-22.
