Computer Store Owner Recalls Attack in $250,000 Armed Robbery

The last thing Mohamad Nematzadeh remembered, he told police much later, was being kicked by a masked gunman who had forced open the door to his computer store after it had closed.

When Nematzadeh regained consciousness Monday evening, the gunman and his accomplices were gone, along with $250,000 of personal computers that were stored in the warehouse at the 23900 block of Ventura Boulevard, authorities said Tuesday.

The 59-year-old businessman was treated by paramedics at the scene for cuts to the head Monday night, when the robbery occurred, and released, said Detective Mary Baker of the Lost Hills Malibu sheriff’s station.

Authorities said the gunman pushed open a Plexiglas door panel, reached in between the bars and unlocked the front door to PC International, located in a small industrial park next to the Ventura Freeway.

When Nematzadeh emerged from his office, the gunman, who wore gloves, pointed a small-caliber pistol and ordered the merchant to the shop’s foyer, where he recalled being kicked, before he lost consciousness, Baker said.

It’s unclear when the attack occurred. When Nematzadeh regained consciousness about 7:40 p.m., he pressed an alarm button, alerting a security firm, which called sheriff’s deputies.
