Hawthorne Man Held in Shooting at Lot in Stanton
A 25-year-old Hawthorne resident was arrested in the fatal shooting of a Los Angeles man in a restaurant parking lot here early Sunday, authorities said.
Loc Ung Ho was booked in the Orange County Jail in connection with the death, said Lt. Jay Mendez of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities declined to release the name of the victim pending notification of relatives.
Mendez said the victim died at West Anaheim Medical Center shortly after the 1:50 a.m. shooting. Two security guards who witnessed the shooting, which took place in the parking lot of New Hong Kong Restaurant at 12177 Beach Blvd., chased the suspect and held him until sheriff’s deputies arrived, he added.
Deputies recovered a handgun that they believe was used in the shooting, Mendez said.
