Three new members have been appointed to the Board of Trustees at Chapman University, officials said Thursday.

Trustees selected Jack Lindquist, recently retired president of Disneyland; David C. Henley, president of a newspaper publishing company, and Gloria Peterson, a former Chapman Alumna of the Year.

Lindquist, of Newport Beach, retired as president of Disneyland in November, Chapman spokeswoman Ruth Wardwell said. He worked with the theme park for 39 years, in both marketing and administration.

Chapman awarded Lindquist an honorary doctorate in humane letters in 1991, Wardwell said. He graduated from USC, where he studied advertising.

Gov. Pete Wilson recently appointed Lindquist to the California Tourism Commission.

Henley, heads the Henley Publishing Corp., which publishes a daily newspaper that serves western Nevada, Wardwell said.

A retired brigadier general in the Nevada National Guard, Henley had joined the Army in 1957 and specialized in military intelligence, Wardwell said.

Henley, of Newport Beach, majored in journalism at USC and later became the director of that program at the university. He also directed journalism programs at the University of Wyoming and Cal Poly Pomona, Wardwell said.

Peterson, the third trustee, graduated from Chapman in 1940, Wardwell said. She has been active in the Chapman Alumni Assn. and was named Alumna of the Year in 1986.

After working as a social worker, Peterson became an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles, Wardwell said. Peterson later became a training teacher at UCLA.
