An 18-year-old woman who ran from behind a bus into the path of a gas tanker died Sunday from her injuries, authorities said Monday.
Brandi Adams, who lived at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, died at 5:30 p.m. at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, California Highway Patrol Officer Angel Johnson said.
Johnson said Adams got off an Orange County Transit Authority bus on C Street just west of 9th Street on the marine base about 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
She then ran into the street behind the bus and was struck by the gas tanker, which was moving eastbound on C at about 25 m.p.h. The driver, Dennis P. Sobanski, 41, of Long Beach, was not cited, Johnson said.
