Four men were arrested Friday for allegedly killing a Torrance man during a robbery in an alley near the victim’s home Monday.

Henry Hernandez, 18; Edgar Orellana, 20; Gerardo Orellana, 26, and Cristobal Archila, 31, were booked on suspicion of murder and held without bail in the shooting of Pedronal Paez, 40, Torrance Police Sgt. David Smith said. Paez was found fatally wounded about 5 a.m. Monday in the 20300 block of Anza Avenue, Smith said.

A break in the case came early Friday morning, when officers went to the 23000 block of Madison Street to investigate a report of an attempted auto theft, Smith said. The officers stopped a car that was occupied by Hernandez and another man, and in the vehicle they found burglary tools and a loaded handgun, Smith said. Their investigation led to the other three suspects.
