Time to Wake Up to Stock Car Racing
I am writing to protest the lack of coverage of Winston Cup stock car racing. Recently, when more than 90,000 attended the Sears Point race, even though a California driver, Ernie Irvan, won, The Times gave only several lines to the story.
In the L.A. area, we have such uninteresting teams in football, basketball, etc., that it is refreshing to watch a sport such as stock car racing. It is growing in television coverage and fan interest, and the L.A. Times just doesn’t seem to understand what is happening.
