Olivier Messiaen’s Piece for Piano and Strings will also be heard Oct. 22 for the first time in Southern California.

Groups performing in the series will include the Southwest Chamber Music Society and the Debussy Trio, both from Southern California; the Cherubini String Quartet from Germany; the Zurich-based Carmina Quartet, and the Santa Fe (N.M.) Chamber Music Festival on Tour.
