SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Rodeos to Benefit Anti-Drug Group

Cowboys will be roping and steering in San Juan Capistrano this weekend as a benefit for Santa Ana’s Drug Use Is Life Abuse nonprofit educational association.

Events on Saturday include a rodeo from 2 to 4 p.m. and a dance from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Creekside Equestrian Center, 28801 San Juan Creek Road.

Cowboys will gear up again Sunday for a rodeo from 1 to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12 years old if purchased in advance and $12 for adults and $7 for kids at the gate. The gates open two hours before the event for parking.

The rodeos are courtesy of the San Juan Capistrano Professional Rodeo Cowboy Assn. This is the third event the association has offered to benefit Drug Use Is Life Abuse.

Drug Use Is Life Abuse was founded by Orange Cty Sheriff Brad Gates in 1987. It is based in Santa Ana and was started as a support group of the Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
