‘Melrose Place’ Star to Play Two Games for Splash

Andrew Shue, the actor who plays Billy on the television series, “Melrose Place,” signed a contract Wednesday to play two games for the Splash, Anaheim’s entry in the Continental Indoor Soccer League.

Shue, a midfielder, was one of two local amateurs protected by the Splash, which opens the season Friday at The Pond at Anaheim against the Las Vegas Dustdevils. Shue competed for Ivy League-champion Dartmouth.

The Rams announced the signing of sixth-round draft pick Rickey Brady of Oklahoma. Brady is a 6-foot-4, 246-pound tight end.

Esperanza’s Chris Berry, three-time Empire League champion, will lead the North team at the Orange County All-Star Golf Match this afternoon at Newport Beach Country Club.

The South has won the five previous all-star matches, which are sponsored by the Southern California PGA and features the county’s best senior golfers.

The South is led by El Toro’s Ben Garner and Santa Margarita’s Kellee Booth.

Western senior Tiger Woods isn’t playing because he is in New York competing in a PGA Tour event.
