Teacher Pleads Not Guilty in Shooting of 2
An Orange County high school teacher pleaded not guilty Monday to two counts of attempted murder in the June 1 shooting of her ex-lover and another woman.
Janet Ruth Greene entered the pleas at her arraignment in Citrus Municipal Court in West Covina. Greene, 51, a physical education teacher and former Teacher of the Year at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, is accused of shooting her ex-lover, Loretta Coller, 62, of Glendora and Coller’s companion, Martha Pereida, 49, of Alhambra. The shooting may have left Coller permanently paralyzed.
Greene is being held at the Sybil Brand Institute for Women in Los Angeles on $300,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is set Aug. 5.
