Man Held in Bank Robbery, Carjacking

A man suspected of robbing a bank Thursday was also was booked on suspicion of a carjacking in Huntington Beach last week.

The bank robbery occurred at 1:30 p.m. at the Bank of America branch in the 2600 block of North Tustin Avenue, Lt. Timm Browne said. The robber handed a teller a note demanding money, and escaped with an undetermined amount.

Officers looking for the robber found the suspect nearby in a car that had been reported stolen in a carjacking in Huntington Beach, Browne said. They also found a large amount of cash in the car.

Dennis Fitzgerald Dearmore, 25, of Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of robbery and carjacking and taken to Orange County Jail, Browne said.
